Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Risk Officer role based in Mecca. The Risk Officer is responsible for identifying, assessing, and monitoring financial, operational, legal, and project-related risks across development and urban regeneration initiatives. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining the risk register, performing risk analyses on existing and proposed projects, and preparing regular risk reports and dashboards for management and governance committees. The role involves developing and updating risk policies, frameworks, and procedures, as well as coordinating risk assessments with internal departments and external partners. The Risk Officer will support compliance with applicable regulations, participate in audits, and recommend mitigation measures to enhance the company’s overall risk posture. The position also requires collaboration with project, finance, legal, and operations teams to embed risk awareness and controls into key processes and strategic decisions.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of risk management principles, frameworks, and tools, preferably within real estate, urban development, or infrastructure projects.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and prioritize financial, operational, and compliance risks, and propose practical mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis, reporting, and the use of spreadsheets and presentation software to prepare clear risk reports and dashboards.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly advantageous.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at different levels.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; a relevant professional certification (e.g., CRM, FRM, PMI-RMP, ISO 31000) is a plus.
- Experience in government-related entities, municipal projects, or public–private partnerships is beneficial.
- High ethical standards and a commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and continuous improvement in risk practices.
