Job Summary

The postdoctoral will be responsible for developing one of the following research areas: biosensing technologies, recognition receptors (phage technologies) and lab on a chip for various biomedical, environmental, food and security applications. In addition, the employee will be responsible for supervising undergraduate and graduate students and working with other lab members to finish specific duties related to his research area. Part of his job will be writing proposals for funding, articles, and giving presentations about his work.

• Theranostic technology

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

• Conducts research in development of biosensors, recognition receptors (phage technologies) and lab on a chip area in the context of the assigned research area.
• Supervises undergraduate and graduate students in the lab in their research.
• Performs literature review about specific research areas upon request from the lab director.
• Participates in day-to-day lab duties and maintains equipment maintenance and inventory to ensure safe environment.
• Prepares complete documentation of research activities for reference purposes, including following applicable data management protocols.
• Analyzes, interprets, and documents research findings for review.
• Assists in the preparation and writing articles and funding proposals.
• Organizes, analyzes, and presents data from research on a weekly basis.
• Pursues independent (but complementary) research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally.
• Publishes research results in peer-reviewed scientific or technical journals and present results at external conferences seminars and/or technical meetings.
• Supervises students as they conduct experiments during research projects.
• Assists with procuring laboratory supplies.
• Executes regular safety inspections of equipment and laboratories.
• Performs all duties in a professional, effective, and confidential manner.
• Performs all other related duties as required or assigned by the manager.

Education & Experience

• Doctor of Philosophy (PHD) in Chemistry, Science, or equivalent from an accredited institute.
• Minimum of one year in research project assistance (Research Assistant or Lab Assistant) or related fields (Desirable).
