المهام والمسؤوليات
- إدارة المرضى البالغين الذين يعانون من حالات حادة ويحضرون إلى وحدات الطب الباطني والطوارئ الطبية، بما في ذلك آلام الصدر، الإنتان، الضائقة التنفسية، السكتة الدماغية، الاضطرابات الأيضية، والفشل الكلوي الحاد.
- إجراء التقييم الأولي، والتثبيت، والتصعيد المناسب للمرضى في حالة حرجة، والتنسيق مع فرق العناية المركزة والتخصصات الأخرى حسب الحاجة.
- قيادة فريق المناوبات الطبية، وإدارة الإحالات من أقسام الطوارئ والتنويم، وضمان التوثيق الفوري والتشخيص وبدء خطط العلاج.
- تقديم الرعاية للمرضى المنومين الذين يعانون من مشاكل الطب الباطني المزمنة والحادة، بما في ذلك فشل القلب، تفاقم مرض الانسداد الرئوي المزمن، الحماض الكيتوني السكري، نزيف الجهاز الهضمي، والأمراض المعدية.

Independently manage acutely ill adult patients presenting to the Medical and Acute Medical units with medical conditions including chest pain, sepsis, respiratory distress, stroke, metabolic disturbances, and acute renal failure.
Perform initial assessment, stabilization, and appropriate escalation for critically ill patients, coordinating with ICU and specialty teams as needed.
Lead the Medical On-Call team, managing referrals from emergency and inpatient units, ensuring timely clerking, diagnosis, and initiation of treatment plans.
Provide ward-based care to patients with chronic and acute internal medicine problems, including heart failure, COPD exacerbation, DKA, GI bleeds, and infectious diseases.
Carry out essential clinical procedures such as venipuncture, cannulation, catheterization, ABGs, and ECG interpretation.
Actively participate in daily ward rounds, case discussions, and discharge planning alongside consultants and nursing teams.
Contribute to junior doctor and nursing staff education through bedside teaching and departmental teaching sessions.
Ensure accurate and timely documentation using electronic health record systems, aligned with local protocols.
Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to provide safe, patient-centred care.
