Roles & Responsibilities

1. Work under the assigned management structure and report to the relevant Directorate of Operations.
2. Establish, manage, and lead a comprehensive training program for Tactical Flight Operators (TFOs), including the design and implementation of training curricula for mission-critical aviation operations such as surveillance, search and rescue, tactical operations, and law enforcement support.
3. Develop a structured TFO training curriculum incorporating classroom instruction, hands-on equipment training, practical exercises, and mission-based simulation.
4. Develop, prepare, review, and update training manuals, lesson plans, syllabi, examinations, and other instructional materials.
5. Ensure training programs are aligned with operational objectives, aviation safety requirements, applicable regulations, and recognized industry best practices.
6. Deliver high-quality theoretical and practical training to TFO candidates, focusing on mission-critical competencies such as equipment operation, communication, navigation, situational awareness, and coordination with air and ground teams.
7. Design and conduct realistic training scenarios, including Search and Rescue (SAR), suspect pursuit, surveillance operations, disaster response, emergency operations, and multi-agency coordination exercises.
8. Ensure all training activities are conducted in accordance with applicable aviation safety requirements, operational procedures, and mission protocols.
9. Train personnel in the operation of advanced mission equipment, including thermal imaging systems, FLIR, GPS, surveillance systems, mapping software, and communication equipment.
10. Conduct classroom instruction, presentations, demonstrations, practical exercises, and mission-based training.
11. Evaluate trainee performance during theoretical and practical exercises and provide constructive feedback, coaching, and corrective guidance.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

1. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Tactical Flight Operator/Officer or in a related operational aviation role, such as military aviation, law enforcement aviation, surveillance operations, or Search and Rescue.
2. Must hold a recognized Tactical Flight Operator/Officer qualification or certification, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
3. Proven experience in training, instructing, mentoring, or supervising personnel involved in aviation-supported operational missions.
4. Must hold the required aviation medical certification and successfully pass any applicable medical assessment.
5. Instructor Development or equivalent instructor certification is preferred.
6. Proficient in the use of advanced mission equipment, including thermal imaging systems, FLIR, surveillance equipment, mapping and navigation software, GPS, and communication systems.
7. Demonstrated experience in developing training materials, publications, lesson plans, syllabi, examinations, and related instructional documentation.
8. Strong proficiency in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and database applications.
9. Good command of the English language, including proper grammar, written communication, and aviation-related terminology.
