1. Job SummaryWaed Al-Arabia Company Ltd. is seeking an experienced Electrical Testing & Commissioning Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in electrical power equipment testing, protection relay configuration, and commissioning activities.The ideal candidate should have practical experience in testing power transformers, LV/MV/HV switchgear, SF₆-insulated switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, and numerical protection relays. Experience in secondary injection testing, protection scheme verification, and troubleshooting is essential.Knowledge of SCADA communication testing and the ability to read, develop, and modify electrical drawings will be an added advantage.

2. Key Responsibilities

• A. Electrical Testing & CommissioningPerform pre-commissioning, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical power equipment.
• Conduct electrical testing of power transformers, LV/MV/HV switchgear, SF₆-insulated switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, VTs, and associated equipment.
• Execute testing in accordance with approved procedures, project specifications, manufacturer recommendations, and applicable standards.
• Prepare test reports, commissioning records, and technical documentation.

• B. Protection Relay Configuration & TestingConfigure, test, and commission numerical protection relays from SEL, Siemens, ABB, Schneider Electric, GE/Multilin, or equivalent manufacturers.
• Perform secondary injection testing, protection function verification, trip testing, and functional testing of protection schemes.
• Verify relay settings, protection logic, trip matrices, interlocking, alarms, and control functions against approved settings and drawings.
• Troubleshoot relay configuration, wiring, and protection scheme issues.
• Demonstrate practical experience with OMICRON CMC, Megger FREJA, or equivalent relay testing equipment.

• C. SCADA & Communication TestingSupport SCADA point-to-point testing of indications, alarms, measurements, status signals, and control commands.
• Verify communication between protection relays, RTUs, gateways, and SCADA/DCS systems.
• Assist in troubleshooting communication failures and signal mapping issues.
• Possess a working knowledge of IEC 61850 and Modbus TCP/IP protocols.

• D. Drawings & Engineering SupportRead and interpret single-line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, interconnection diagrams, and protection logic diagrams.
• Support electrical protection and control modifications, retrofit activities, and substation upgrades.

• 3. Required Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in electrical testing and commissioning, preferably in substations or industrial power systems.
• Hands-on experience with power transformers, LV/MV/HV switchgear, SF₆-insulated switchgear, circuit breakers, CTs, and VTs.
• Practical experience in numerical protection relay configuration, secondary injection testing, and protection scheme verification.
• Proficiency in OMICRON CMC, Megger FREJA, or equivalent relay testing equipment.
• Good understanding of electrical protection principles, trip circuits, and control schemes.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and technical documentation.
• Willingness to travel and work at project sites within Saudi Arabia.

• 4. Preferred Qualifications & Added AdvantagesExperience in Saudi Aramco, SEC, utility, oil and gas, or industrial EPC projects.
• Experience in SCADA integration and substation automation.
• Ability to develop or modify electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and wiring drawings using AutoCAD or equivalent software.
• Experience in electrical design engineering, protection scheme development, relay setting calculations, or brownfield modification projects.
