EXP Arabia is seeking a versatile, experienced, and reliable “Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mining”. You’ll join our collaborative Mining team, working alongside multidisciplinary professionals to deliver practical, innovative solutions for complex mining projects.

Location: Riyadh, KSA

Job Requirements and Description

• Checking of 3D models and drawings developed by others.
• Troubleshoot, analyze, identify, evaluate, propose engineering solutions.
• Provide support to our systems and tools including the Bentley Suite of software (OpenPlant Modeler, OpenPlant P&ID, etc.).
• Provide regular feedback to the Overall Mechanical Engineering Lead on progress with the preparation of deliverables.

Background and Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 years of experience in a heavy industrial design and layout, EPCM environment is preferred.
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in mining and mineral or similar industries.
• Experience with the design registration of power piping systems with the safety authority.
• Experience with Section VIII, Div 1 pressure vessel design modifications and pressure vessel alterations with the safety authority.
• Experience with ASME B31.3 and B31.1 piping codes, National Board, API 650, ASME Section VIII Div 1, NFPA codes, CSA Z662 and CSA Z276 is desired.
• Knowledge of mining and bulk material handling (crushing, grinding, screening, conveying, flotation and tailings).
• Knowledge of piping design and process equipment (PE piping, slurry hydraulics, tanks, pumps, and pipe stress).
• Experience with Greenfield and Brownfield interfaces, including constructability experience
• Active member of the Saudi Council of Engineers.
• Design experience, preferably in the consulting industry, (preference will be given to those candidates with experience in Mineral Mining projects).
• Minimum of 4 years experience with Bentley, Openplant, or 3D Microstation.
• Sound understanding of design, Saudi engineering codes and technical standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, etc.), CAD, and BIM tools.
• Knowledge of mining-related processes.

• Professionalism: Appropriate written and verbal communications skills.
• Professional presentation external and internal to office. (IE: attire, engagement, meeting prep, etc.)
• Demonstrates presentation skills through internal and external technical presentations and white papers.
• Positively contributes to EXP and local office culture.
