Role Description

The Laboratory Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Jeddah, responsible for overseeing daily operations of the clinical laboratory. This includes managing laboratory staff, scheduling, and workflow to ensure accurate and timely test results. The role involves supervising quality control procedures, maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment, and ensuring compliance with safety, regulatory, and accreditation standards. The Laboratory Manager will collaborate with physicians and clinical teams, support research and development initiatives, optimize laboratory processes, and manage inventory, documentation, and reporting. The position also includes training and mentoring team members, implementing best practices, and participating in continuous improvement projects to enhance laboratory performance.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualifications such as a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field; professional certification is an advantage.
• Demonstrated 5+ experience in lab management and supervisory roles, with strong leadership, team coordination, and performance management capabilities.

Required Skills:

• Strong laboratory skills, including practical experience in sample handling, testing procedures, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
• Expertise in quality control, with the ability to implement, monitor, and improve quality assurance systems and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Proficiency in working with laboratory equipment, including operation, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of instruments.
• Solid analytical skills, with the capacity to interpret test results, analyze data, and support clinical decision-making.
• Eexperience in research and development (R&D), including participation in method validation, process improvement, and innovation in laboratory practices.
• Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical teams.
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS), documentation standards, and continuous improvement methodologies.
