Job Description
WSP is seeking an experienced Survey Engineer to support the delivery of major transportation, road, and utility infrastructure projects in Jeddah. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing contractor surveying activities, verifying setting out works, reviewing survey records, and ensuring construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and contractual requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify contractor survey methodologies, control points, benchmarks, and setting out activities.
- Monitor and inspect survey works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements.
- Verify horizontal and vertical alignments, levels, coordinates, and dimensions for infrastructure works.
- Establish and maintain survey control networks and reference points across project sites.
- Review and validate survey reports, calculations, records, and as-built drawings.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers, inspectors, and multidisciplinary supervision teams to resolve surveying and construction issues.
- Verify quantities and measurements of completed works for progress reporting and certification purposes.
- Monitor contractor compliance with approved survey procedures and quality standards.
- Conduct field inspections to verify the accuracy of utility corridors, road alignments, drainage networks, and associated infrastructure works.
- Support project reporting and provide technical recommendations relating to surveying and construction accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements during survey operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Surveying Engineering, Geomatics Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience on transportation, roads, highways, utility infrastructure, drainage, and civil infrastructure projects.
- Mandatory experience within Saudi Arabia (KSA).
- Proven experience working for engineering consultancy firms in a construction supervision/site supervision capacity.
- Strong background in supervising and verifying contractor survey activities on infrastructure projects.
- Experience with utility infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, stormwater, drainage, and associated network installations.
- Proficiency in Total Station, GPS/GNSS systems, digital levels, and survey data processing software.
- Strong understanding of construction supervision procedures, quality assurance requirements, and infrastructure project delivery.
- Ability to review engineering drawings, specifications, layouts, and survey calculations.
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
- Fluency in English is essential; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
