Head of Mechanical Maintenance & Lubrication
Job Purpose
Lead and oversee mechanical maintenance and lubrication activities across the plant, covering crushers, kilns, raw and cement mills, packing machines, and associated equipment.
The role is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability and availability, effective maintenance execution, and compliance with approved maintenance plans, operational requirements, technical standards, and company policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance or a related field.
- Supervisory experience is preferred.
- Experience in the cement industry or other heavy industries is an advantage.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise preventive, corrective, and emergency mechanical maintenance activities for major plant equipment and supporting systems.
- Oversee the maintenance of crushers, kilns, raw and cement mills, packing machines, and associated equipment, ensuring equipment availability and operational reliability.
- Participate in developing annual shutdown and maintenance plans in alignment with production plans and monitor their execution.
- Plan and coordinate mechanical maintenance activities with Technical and Operations departments.
- Supervise and monitor lubrication activities and systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommendations and approved maintenance standards.
- Follow up on lubrication activities, oil sampling, and inspection programs according to established schedules and technical requirements.
- Review and analyze maintenance records and equipment failure reports, identify recurring failures, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Monitor maintenance performance and equipment reliability to minimize unplanned downtime and improve maintenance effectiveness.
- Identify requirements for spare parts, materials, tools, and maintenance resources and coordinate to ensure the availability of critical spare parts.
- Prepare maintenance schedules and ensure effective allocation and utilization of manpower and resources.
- Ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) requirements across all maintenance and lubrication activities.
- Support the evaluation of lubrication oils, greases, suppliers, and alternatives to achieve the required quality and cost efficiency.
- Prepare and monitor the annual budget for the Mechanical Maintenance & Lubrication Section.
- Prepare technical and periodic reports related to maintenance activities, equipment condition, failures, and lubrication performance.
- Review and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and relevant documentation.
- Lead and support the mechanical maintenance and lubrication teams to ensure section objectives are achieved efficiently.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the direct manager.
