Position Overview
Bureau Veritas Saudi Arabia is seeking a qualified
Firestop Inspector to support Building & Infrastructure projects across the Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting firestop installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, UL-listed firestop systems, applicable codes and standards, and project specifications.
The role requires strong technical knowledge of passive fire protection systems, inspection practices, QA/QC procedures, and construction quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and interpret approved drawings, specifications, UL-listed firestop systems, and relevant codes and standards.
- Verify proper selection and installation of approved firestop materials in accordance with project requirements.
- Inspect firestop installations to ensure compliance with approved systems, manufacturer requirements, and project specifications.
- Guide contractors and site personnel on the proper execution of firestop works.
- Conduct routine inspections and identify non-conformities, defects, and deviations.
- Prepare and submit Work Inspection Requests (WIRs).
- Participate in consultant and client inspections and support the closure of inspection comments.
- Ensure support systems and related fabrications are installed according to approved drawings and standards.
- Prepare inspection reports and maintain accurate documentation.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and clients to ensure compliance and quality requirements.
Requirements
- UL Firestop Inspector Certification.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in firestop inspection, installation, QA/QC, or passive fire protection works on construction projects.
- Strong understanding of firestop systems and fire-rated assemblies.
- Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and construction quality management systems.
- Familiarity with MEP penetrations, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and low-current systems.
- Good knowledge of safety regulations, risk assessment, and safety management systems.
- Strong inspection, reporting, communication, and coordination skills.
