We are currently supporting an international multidisciplinary consultancy in the appointment of an Architect of Record (AOR) to join their team in Riyadh.

This is a hands on position for an Architect with experience operating within the Saudi market, particularly across authority approvals, Saudi Building Code compliance, permitting and the review and approval of architectural documentation.

The successful candidate will act as a key technical and regulatory interface between the design team, clients, consultants and relevant Saudi authorities, ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with local regulations and professional standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as Architect of Record across major projects in Saudi Arabia.
• Review architectural designs and documentation for compliance with the Saudi Building Code (SBC) and relevant municipal requirements.
• Prepare AOR reports throughout the relevant project design stages.
• Manage and coordinate authority submissions, building permits and approvals.
• Liaise directly with municipalities, regulatory authorities and other government entities.
• Review architectural deliverables produced by internal design teams and external consultants.
• Coordinate with structural, MEP and other engineering disciplines to ensure technical and regulatory compliance.
• Work closely with clients, consultants and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Provide technical and regulatory guidance to project and design teams.
• Support proposal, prequalification and tender activities where knowledge of Saudi regulations is required.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years' architectural experience preferred.
• Must have experience working within Saudi Arabia.
• Registered / licensed to practise in Saudi Arabia, with the appropriate professional accreditation to undertake AOR responsibilities.
• Demonstrable experience with authority submissions and regulatory approvals.
• Strong knowledge of the Saudi Building Code, municipal regulations and approval processes.
• Strong multidisciplinary coordination experience.
• Working knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD and BIM environments.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and technical reporting skills.
• English communication skills essential; Arabic would be highly advantageous.

Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

You must be based in Saudi Arabia, have experience in the local market.
