About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and highly capable Design Interface Manager to join our project team in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will have a strong architectural background and extensive experience managing design interfaces across multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing interfaces between architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, landscape, and other design disciplines, ensuring effective communication, timely resolution of design issues, and alignment with project requirements, programme, and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate design interfaces between all project disciplines, consultants, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
• Establish and maintain an effective design interface management process throughout the project lifecycle.
• Identify, track, and resolve design clashes, gaps, inconsistencies, and interface issues between disciplines.
• Coordinate architectural, structural, MEP, infrastructure, landscape, and specialist design requirements.
• Review design deliverables to ensure proper coordination and alignment with project requirements.
• Lead regular design coordination and interface meetings and ensure that actions are clearly recorded and followed up.
• Maintain and update the Design Interface Register, interface matrices, action trackers, and related documentation.
• Coordinate with BIM and design teams to identify and resolve multidisciplinary coordination issues and clashes.
• Monitor the status of design interfaces and escalate critical or unresolved issues to the Project Director/Design Director.
• Ensure that design interfaces are properly coordinated before the release of drawings, specifications, and construction information.
• Coordinate design changes and assess their impact on other disciplines, programme, cost, and constructability.
• Support the design management team in reviewing technical submissions, RFIs, design changes, and consultant deliverables.
• Coordinate with construction teams to identify site-related design interface issues and facilitate timely technical resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with project standards, applicable Saudi Building Code (SBC) requirements, authority requirements, and approved project procedures.
• Support project delivery by ensuring that design interfaces are managed in line with the approved project programme.
• Prepare periodic design interface reports and provide management with updates on key risks, issues, and outstanding actions.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities related to design management and project interfaces as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture is mandatory.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant professional experience in architecture, design management, interface management, or project coordination.
• Proven experience in large-scale mixed-use development projects.
• Experience working with multidisciplinary design consultants, contractors, and project management teams.
• Previous experience in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is mandatory/preferred.
