Role Overview

The BIM Specialist will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering high-quality BIM and lighting design outputs across all project phases. The role supports design, sales, and project execution teams by translating lighting concepts into coordinated BIM models, technical drawings, calculations, and construction documentation in compliance with project requirements, industry standards, and brand specifications.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, and coordinate integrated interior and exterior architectural lighting design solutions in collaboration with Sales, Design, and Engineering teams.
• Support all key design phases including concept development, schematic design, design development, and execution documentation.
• Participate in conceptual design workshops and contribute to lighting concepts, visual intent, and technical feasibility.
• Assemble complete design and execution document packages, including drawings, schedules, and specifications, for review by Electrical Engineers, Project Managers, or Sales teams.
• Develop BIM models and coordinated lighting layouts in alignment with architectural, electrical, and landscape disciplines.
• Prepare detailed wiring diagrams, connection details, installation drawings, underground cabling cross-sections, and site coordination details for installation teams.
• Resolve time-sensitive design and coordination issues efficiently and professionally to avoid project delays.
• Document all design phase services including lighting layouts, specifications, details, lighting calculations, and revisions.
• Support value engineering exercises without compromising design intent or performance.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Electrical Engineering, Lighting Design, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in architectural lighting design and BIM-based project delivery.
• Strong proficiency in Revit (BIM), AutoCAD, and lighting calculation software (e.g., Dialux, Relux, AGi32).
• Experience with 3D visualization tools (e.g., SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, 3ds Max, Photoshop).
• Solid understanding of architectural and façade lighting systems, luminaires, controls, and installation methods.
• Strong attention to detail, documentation accuracy, and coordination skills.
• Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
• Good communication skills in English and Arabic.
