Company Description Taif University (TU) is a public institution located in Al-Hawiyya, Taif Governorate, in the Emirate of Makkah in the western region of Saudi Arabia. The main campus sits on the eastern slopes of the Sarawat Mountains at an altitude of 1700 meters, with three branch campuses in Taraba, Khurma, and Ranya. Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cyber Security Specialist role based at Taif University in Taif. The specialist will monitor, analyze, and respond to security events across university networks, systems, and applications, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of institutional data. Responsibilities include conducting vulnerability assessments and penetration testing, managing security tools, enforcing security policies and standards, and supporting secure configuration and patch management. The role involves collaborating with IT and academic departments to design and implement security controls, reviewing new systems for security risks, and contributing to incident response and forensic investigations. The specialist will also help promote security awareness through training, documentation, and guidance to university personnel.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in Cybersecurity and Information Security, including risk assessment, threat analysis, and security policy implementation.
• Candidates should possess skills in Network Security, such as firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network architecture.
• Candidates should possess skills in Application Security, including secure coding practices, code review, and vulnerability mitigation for web and enterprise applications.
• Candidates should possess skills in broader Cyber domains, such as incident response, digital forensics, and security monitoring using SIEM and related tools.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, GIAC) are highly beneficial.
• Experience with regulatory and compliance frameworks, security best practices in academic or large organizational environments, and documentation of security procedures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, effective communication skills, and the capacity to work collaboratively with diverse technical and non-technical stakeholders.
