Job Summary

The Director of Engineering is responsible for overseeing the hotel's engineering, maintenance, and facility operations, ensuring all building systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained to the highest standards in accordance with IHG brand standards, hotel policies, and applicable Saudi regulations. The role focuses on ensuring operational efficiency, guest comfort, colleague safety, asset preservation, and cost-effective maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Engineering Department, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all hotel facilities and equipment.
• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs for HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire and life safety, and other building systems.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, health and safety requirements, environmental practices, and applicable Saudi regulations.
• Manage departmental budgets, control maintenance costs, monitor utility consumption, and implement energy-saving and sustainability initiatives.
• Oversee renovation works, capital projects, contractor performance, and equipment replacement to maintain the hotel's facilities and assets.
• Lead, train, and develop the engineering team, promoting a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with other hotel departments to address maintenance concerns promptly and maintain high standards of guest satisfaction.
• Monitor engineering performance, maintain accurate records, and ensure timely completion of inspections, maintenance schedules, and corrective actions.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Proven experience in engineering or facilities management, preferably within an international hotel environment.
• Strong technical knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, fire and life safety, and energy management.
• Experience in budgeting, project management, contractor supervision, and team leadership.
• Good knowledge of health and safety requirements and applicable regulations in Saudi Arabia.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
