Role Description The FOC Splicer Aramco certified role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dammam. The individual in this role will be responsible for splicing, terminating, and testing fiber optic cables in accordance with Aramco specifications and project drawings. Day-to-day tasks include preparing cables, performing fusion and mechanical splicing, executing structured cabling work, labeling and documenting connections, and conducting OTDR and other testing to ensure network integrity. The role also involves troubleshooting cable faults, coordinating with site supervisors and project engineers, following safety procedures, and maintaining tools and equipment in good working condition. The FOC splicer is expected to work in field conditions, meet project timelines, and ensure all work complies with company and client quality standards.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong skills in working with cables and cabling, including installation, routing, and safe handling of fiber and related infrastructure.
• Candidates should possess structured cabling skills, covering organization of cable runs, termination practices, labeling, and adherence to industry standards.
• Candidates should possess practical knowledge of electricity as it relates to low-voltage systems, basic electrical safety, and understanding of grounding and power requirements for network equipment.
• Candidates should possess proficiency in using hand tools relevant to cabling and splicing work, such as strippers, cleavers, fusion splicers, crimpers, and testing devices.
• Aramco certification for FOC splicing or equivalent approval, with demonstrated experience in Aramco-standard projects.
• Experience in fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing in industrial or large-scale projects, preferably in the oil and gas or utilities sector.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, plans, and work instructions, and to complete documentation and reports accurately.
• Strong commitment to safety, ability to work on-site in varying environmental conditions, and readiness to work extended hours as project needs require.
• Basic communication skills in English, and the ability to collaborate effectively with supervisors, engineers, and co-workers.
