Job Purpose
Support the document management process across engineering and construction projects. The Document Controller is responsible for organizing, tracking, and maintaining all project documentation in accordance with company standards and project requirements.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Maintain the document control system to ensure accurate tracking, archiving, and retrieval of project documents
- Follow established document control procedures and ensure compliance with company and client requirements
- Coordinate the receipt, registration, distribution, and filing of engineering drawings, submittals, specifications, RFIs, and other project documents
- Review documents for completeness and proper formatting before issuing or uploading
- Ensure timely distribution of controlled documents to internal teams and external stakeholders
- Monitor document status and maintain up‑to‑date logs throughout the project lifecycle
- Generate regular document control reports as required by the project team
- Support project managers, engineers, consultants, and contractors in proper documentation handling
- Assist in maintaining organized electronic and hard‑copy filing systems
- Provide basic guidance to team members on document control processes and system usage when needed
Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills
- Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university with at least 3 years of relevant experience
- Diploma from a recognized institution with at least 7 years of relevant experience
- Solid understanding of document control principles and practices in engineering or construction environments
- Experience using Oracle‑based document control platforms (e.g., Aconex, Primavera Unifier, or similar)
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Knowledge of ISO document control standards is an advantage
