- Operational Management:
- Oversee the day-to-day operation of the combined cycle power plant, including gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and other auxiliary systems, ensuring they operate within design parameters
- Ensure that power generation meets the demand specified in the PPA, continuously monitoring load requirements and adjusting output accordingly
- Supervision and Team Leadership:
- Lead, mentor, and supervise the operations team during the shift, ensuring compliance with safety practices and operational procedures
- Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and accountability among team members, and provide training to enhance operational capabilities
- Compliance with PPA and Regulatory Standards:
- Ensure compliance with all terms of the Power Purchase Agreement, including availability, output, and reporting requirements
- Adhere to all environmental regulations and operational standards to minimize impact and ensure responsible plant operation
- Monitoring and Performance Reporting:
- Use plant control systems to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational parameters, responding promptly to alarms and anomalies to maintain safe and efficient operations
- Prepare detailed shift reports that document operational performance, incidents, and any deviations from expected outputs or procedures
- Emergency Response and Troubleshooting:
- Act as the first point of contact in emergency situations, effectively coordinating response efforts and implementing the plant's emergency procedures
- Lead troubleshooting efforts to identify and resolve operational issues, coordinating with maintenance and engineering teams as needed
- Coordination with Maintenance and Support Teams:
- Collaborate with maintenance teams to facilitate planned maintenance and operational improvements while ensuring minimal disruption to plant operations
- Communicate with support departments (e.g., electrical, instrumentation) to address any operational challenges that arise during the shift
- Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency enhancements, and operational best practices in line with contractual obligations
- Engage in professional development activities and industry training to keep skills and knowledge current with advances in power generation technology
- Documentation and Records Management:
- Maintain accurate logs of plant operations, safety checks, and compliance documentation as required by company policies and regulatory standards
- Ensure timely reporting of operational data to management and relevant stakeholders, including compliance with PPA reporting requirements
