المهام والمسؤوليات

  • دعم تنفيذ أنشطة حفر الأنفاق بواسطة TBM وحفر الكهوف تحت الأرض طوال دورة حياة المشروع.
  • مراقبة عمليات حفر TBM بما في ذلك تركيب البطانة القطاعية، والحشو الخلفي، وتقدم الحفر، والأداء التشغيلي.
  • المساعدة في الإشراف على أعمال حفر الكهوف باستخدام طرق NATM وSEM والحفر والتفجير أو غيرها من المنهجيات المعتمدة.

الشروط والمتطلبات

  • درجة البكالوريوس في الهندسة المدنية أو هندسة التعدين أو هندسة الأنفاق أو أي تخصص ذي صلة.
  • خبرة لا تقل عن 10 سنوات في مجال الأنفاق أو البناء تحت الأرض أو مشاريع البنية التحتية الكبرى.
  • خبرة في دعم مشاريع حفر الأنفاق باستخدام آلات TBM من نوع EPB أو Slurry أو Hard Rock.
  • خبرة في دعم حفر الكهوف تحت الأرض باستخدام طرق NATM أو SEM أو الحفر والتفجير أو طرق مماثلة.
  • فهم قوي لعمليات TBM وعمليات الحفر وأنظمة دعم الأرض وتركيب البطانة القطاعية والحشو الخلفي وأنظمة العزل المائي.
  • خبرة في مراجعة رسومات البناء والمواصفات الهندسية وطرق العمل والمستندات الفنية.
  • خبرة في دعم الإشراف على البناء والهندسة الميدانية والتنسيق مع المقاولين.
  • معرفة بالمراقبة الجيوتقنية وتقارب النفق ومراقبة التسوية وتقييم حركة التربة.
  • خبرة في التنسيق مع فرق هندسية متعددة التخصصات والمقاولين والاستشاريين وأصحاب المصلحة.
  • فهم عمليات تفتيش ضمان الجودة ومتطلبات جودة البناء ومعايير التوثيق.
  • الإلمام بمعايير الأنفاق ذات الصلة مثل EN وBS وITA وأفضل الممارسات الصناعية.
  • مهارات تحليلية قوية وحل المشكلات الفنية والتنسيق الهندسي.
  • مهارات ممتازة في التواصل الكتابي والشفوي.
  • القدرة على العمل بفعالية ضمن برامج بنية تحتية كبيرة متعددة التخصصات.

المهارات المطلوبة

  • خبرة في تنفيذ مشاريع البنية التحتية للنقل أو المترو أو السكك الحديدية أو الطرق السريعة أو المرافق أو المشاريع تحت الأرض.

Job Description

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Tunnel Engineer - TTT Bored Tunnels & Cavern Works to join our team! In this role you will get to provide technical and site engineering support for TBM tunnelling and underground cavern construction activities. You will support the delivery of bored tunnels and underground works by ensuring construction is executed in accordance with approved designs, construction methodologies, quality standards, and project safety requirements while coordinating closely with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support the delivery of TBM tunnelling and underground cavern construction activities throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor TBM tunnelling operations, including segmental lining installation, backfill grouting, TBM advance, and operational performance.
  • Assist in supervising cavern excavation works using NATM, SEM, drill and blast, or other approved excavation methodologies.
  • Review construction activities to ensure compliance with IFC drawings, approved method statements, project specifications, and construction procedures.
  • Prepare and coordinate Requests for Information (RFIs) and support the resolution of technical site issues.
  • Support all phases of the TBM lifecycle, including assembly, launch, production tunnelling, breakthrough, reception, recovery, and decommissioning.
  • Assist in planning and monitoring TBM dismantling, component removal, temporary works removal, and demobilization activities.
  • Coordinate daily engineering activities with contractors, subcontractors, and construction teams.
  • Interface with Geotechnical, Survey, QA/QC, Design, and HSE teams to resolve technical issues and maintain construction progress.
  • Coordinate engineering activities across tunnels, caverns, shafts, cross-passages, and access adits.
  • Monitor and interpret geotechnical instrumentation, settlement monitoring, tunnel convergence, and ground movement data.
  • Verify installation and quality of ground support systems, including shotcrete, rock bolts, steel ribs, waterproofing systems, and segmental tunnel linings.
  • Identify unexpected ground conditions and support reporting in accordance with project Geotechnical Baseline Report (GBR) requirements.
  • Monitor TBM advance rates, cavern excavation progress, and construction productivity.
  • Support short-term planning, look-ahead schedules, progress reporting, and construction performance reviews.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly engineering and construction progress reports.
  • Promote compliance with project Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements and Life-Saving Rules.
  • Monitor high-risk underground activities, including confined space entry, lifting operations, TBM works, and underground construction activities.
  • Participate in toolbox talks, safety inspections, incident investigations, and corrective action implementation.
  • Support QA/QC inspections for tunnel linings, waterproofing systems, shotcrete application, and permanent support installations.
  • Maintain accurate engineering records, inspection reports, site diaries, and construction documentation.
  • Assist in preparing as-built records, handover documentation, and project closeout deliverables.
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as appropriate.


What Required Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Tunnelling Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in tunnelling, underground construction, or major infrastructure projects.
  • Experience supporting TBM tunnelling projects using Earth Pressure Balance (EPB), Slurry, or Hard Rock Tunnel Boring Machines.
  • Experience supporting underground cavern excavation using NATM, SEM, drill and blast, or similar excavation methods.
  • Strong understanding of:
  • TBM operations and tunnelling processes
  • Underground excavation techniques
  • Ground support systems
  • Segmental lining installation
  • Backfill grouting
  • Tunnel waterproofing systems
  • Experience reviewing construction drawings, engineering specifications, method statements, and technical submittals.
  • Experience supporting construction supervision, site engineering, and contractor coordination.
  • Knowledge of geotechnical monitoring, tunnel convergence, settlement monitoring, and ground movement assessment.
  • Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
  • Understanding of QA/QC inspection processes, construction quality requirements, and documentation standards.
  • Familiarity with EN, BS, ITA, and other relevant tunnelling standards and industry best practices.
  • Strong analytical, technical problem-solving, and engineering coordination skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within large multidisciplinary infrastructure programs.


What Desired Skills You'll Bring

  • Experience delivering large-scale transportation, metro, rail, highway, utility, or underground infrastructure projects.
  • Experience working on major international tunnelling or underground construction programs.
  • Knowledge of Geotechnical Baseline Reports (GBR), Ground Investigation Reports (GIR), and geotechnical risk management.
  • Experience supporting TBM launch shafts, reception shafts, cross passages, and underground interface works.
  • Familiarity with digital construction tools, BIM, and construction management platforms.
  • Experience supporting construction planning, look-ahead scheduling, and production monitoring.
  • Strong understanding of underground construction safety and confined space operations.
  • Experience working within client, PMC, EPC, or Delivery Partner project environments.
  • Professional registration or membership with a recognized engineering institution is an advantage.
  • Strong stakeholder management and multidisciplinary coordination skills.
  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and promote continuous improvement in tunnelling and underground construction practices.
