Job Description
The Senior Road & Civil Engineer will provide technical leadership and site supervision for road and civil infrastructure construction activities associated with utility projects. The successful candidate will work closely with contractors, clients, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards, and project schedules while supporting the successful delivery of critical infrastructure assets.
Responsibilities
- Lead construction supervision activities for roads, pavements, utility corridors, drainage networks, and associated civil infrastructure works.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Review and provide comments on method statements, shop drawings, material submittals, and construction schedules.
- Conduct site inspections and oversee testing, commissioning, and handover activities related to civil and roadworks.
- Identify technical issues during construction and provide effective engineering solutions.
- Coordinate with utility, structural, geotechnical, survey, and project management teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Verify progress quantities and review contractor payment applications.
- Ensure all works are performed in accordance with approved QA/QC procedures and project quality requirements.
- Monitor implementation of health, safety, and environmental standards across construction activities.
- Prepare technical reports, inspection reports, non-conformance reports, and site instruction records.
- Participate in project meetings and provide technical recommendations to support project objectives.
- Support project delivery through proactive risk management and stakeholder coordination.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in road and civil infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated experience in construction supervision of utility infrastructure projects, including roads, drainage systems, utility networks, and associated civil works.
- Strong knowledge of international engineering standards and construction practices.
- Previous experience on large-scale infrastructure projects within the GCC region is preferred.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with QA/QC procedures, contract administration, and supervision consultancy services.
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional registration or chartership status is preferred.
- Strong command of written and spoken English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
