Role Description The Head Accountant is a full-time, on-site role based in Dammam, responsible for overseeing all accounting and financial operations for MGT Contracting. Day-to-day tasks include managing the general ledger, supervising accounts payable and receivable, monitoring cash flow, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. The role involves preparing budgets and forecasts, managing cost control for projects, and supporting management with financial analysis and performance reviews. The Head Accountant ensures compliance with relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls, and coordinates with auditors, banks, and external stakeholders as needed. This position also leads and mentors the accounting team, implements process improvements, and supports strategic decision-making through reliable financial data.

Qualifications

• Strong technical accounting skills, including general ledger management, financial reporting, and cost accounting.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial analysis for project-based or contracting environments.
• Knowledge of local tax regulations, compliance requirements, and internal control frameworks.
• Proficiency with accounting software and ERP systems, as well as solid Excel and data management capabilities.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop accounting teams, delegate tasks effectively, and manage performance.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills in English; Arabic proficiency is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or equivalent are preferred.
• Relevant experience in contracting, engineering, construction, or industrial sectors in Saudi Arabia is highly beneficial.
