About the job

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Pilates Instructor to join the SportPlex team. The ideal candidate will deliver safe, engaging, and high-quality Pilates sessions for members of all fitness levels. This role requires strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a genuine passion for helping members improve strength, mobility, posture, and overall well-being.

Job Accountabilities

• Deliver high-quality mat and equipment-based Pilates sessions (Reformer, Tower, Chair, etc.).
• Create class programs aligned with SportPlex standards and member needs.
• Provide modifications and progressions suitable for various fitness levels.
• Teach proper form, breathing, alignment, and movement precision based on Pilates methodology.
• Build a motivating, inclusive, and client-centered class environment.
• Educate members on safe equipment setup and usage.
• Maintain studio cleanliness and ensure equipment is functioning properly.
• Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes and sessions.
• Report attendance, feedback, and any safety or equipment concerns.
• Support workshops, events, and promotional fitness activities as needed.
• Stay updated on new Pilates techniques and training trends.

Required Competencies

• Strong technical understanding of Pilates principles, anatomy, and movement mechanics.
• Ability to teach both group classes and one-on-one sessions effectively.
• Strong communication and client-engagement skills.
• CPR/AED certification (preferred).
• Ability to work with diverse populations and fitness levels.
• Professionalism, reliability, and a member-focused approach.
• Passion for Pilates and continuous professional development.

Experience

• Minimum 2-5 years of Pilates teaching experience in studios, gyms, or wellness centers (preferred).
• Certified Pilates Instructor (Balanced Body, STOTT, BASI, Peak Pilates, or equivalent) mandatory.
• Experience teaching Reformer and multiple Pilates formats is an advantage.
