Role Description The Mid-Level Backend Developer role is a full-time position based in Jeddah with a hybrid work arrangement, allowing some work-from-home flexibility. In this role, the developer will design, implement, and maintain server-side application logic, APIs, and data storage solutions that power Cretik’s web and mobile products. Daily responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and testable code; integrating third-party services; optimizing application performance; and troubleshooting backend issues. The developer will collaborate with frontend engineers, UI/UX designers, and product teams to ensure seamless integration, security, and scalability of solutions. Additional tasks involve participating in code reviews, improving development processes, and contributing to technical documentation and best practices.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development skills, including experience with at least one modern server-side language or framework (e.g., Node.js, Python, Java, .NET) and RESTful API design.
• Proficiency with relational and/or NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB) and data modeling best practices.
• Solid understanding of software architecture concepts, microservices, and integration with web and mobile applications.
• Experience with version control tools and collaborative development workflows (e.g., Git, code reviews, branching strategies).
• Knowledge of application security principles, performance optimization, and scalability in production environments.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms or containerization tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes) is beneficial.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams, communicate clearly, and translate technical details into practical solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Previous experience in a similar backend role (around 3-5 years) and exposure to agency or product-based environments in the MENA region is an advantage.
