About the Company

We are supporting a leading contractor with the appointment of a Quality Assurance Director to lead its corporate quality function across a portfolio of major building projects.

About the Role

This is a senior leadership position focused on strengthening quality governance and implementing consistent processes, procedures and standards across the business. You will work closely with executive leadership and project teams to ensure quality is embedded throughout project delivery, from procurement and construction through to commissioning and handover.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the corporate quality strategy and Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001.
• Establish company-wide policies, procedures, audit programmes and reporting standards, ensuring consistent implementation across projects.
• Provide oversight of project quality plans, inspection and test plans, material approvals and subcontractor quality arrangements.
• Lead corporate and project audits, assessing compliance with contractual specifications, applicable codes, regulatory requirements and client expectations.
• Monitor non-conformances, investigate recurring issues and ensure effective root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Oversee project quality leadership, providing direction, support and accountability across the portfolio.
• Strengthen supplier and subcontractor quality assessment processes in partnership with procurement and operations.
• Drive improvements in workmanship, defect prevention and handover readiness, reducing rework and associated costs.
• Establish meaningful quality KPIs and report performance, emerging risks and improvement priorities to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or a relevant construction discipline.

Required Skills

• 20+ years of experience in construction quality, with substantial exposure to large-scale, technically complex building projects.
• Currently operating at Director level within a tier-one main contractor.
• Proven experience leading a corporate quality function and implementing systems across multiple projects.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, quality auditing, construction standards and contractor quality management.
• Experience leading quality managers and influencing project directors, operational leaders and senior stakeholders.
• A practical approach to improving quality, with the ability to translate corporate requirements into effective site implementation.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous.
• ISO 9001 Lead Auditor certification would be advantageous.
