For our office in Riyadh, we are looking for

Façade / Envelope Engineer - 100% (m/f)

The ideal candidate will have the engineering judgement to assess the building envelope as an integrated performance system. They will recognise how detailing, materials and interfaces influence durability and environmental control, particularly in demanding climates. The candidate should be comfortable challenging specialist proposals, explaining performance risks and working with designers and contractors to resolve interfaces while protecting the intended architectural expression.

Responsibilities:

• Provide technical assurance for façades, cladding, glazing and roofing, including security-rated and blast-related elements where specified.
• Review envelope drawings, specifications and performance criteria for compliance with the approved design and project requirements.
• Assess thermal, weatherproofing, structural and fire performance, checking continuity at joints and transitions.
• Review specialist contractor designs, calculations and shop drawings, identifying unsupported assumptions or incomplete details.
• Coordinate support, movement and tolerance interfaces with structural teams and service penetrations with MEP teams.
• Assess material and system submissions against the required performance, durability and maintenance provisions.
• Review mock-up and performance test proposals and witness testing against the agreed acceptance criteria.
• Track test observations, design comments and technical queries to documented resolution.
• Advise package managers on envelope risks, substitutions and design changes affecting building performance or delivery.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• 10+ years in façade engineering or envelope design review.
• Knowledge of façade testing standards (CWCT, ASTM) and hot-climate envelope performance.
• Eligible for SCE accreditation; must meet client security vetting requirements.
• Ability to interpret specialist envelope calculations, system details and performance test reports.
• Understanding of façade support, movement, tolerance, junction and penetration interfaces.
• Desirable: Blast-resistant or forced-entry-rated glazing experience.
