Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Resident in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy role is based in Riyadh. The Senior Resident will perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures under appropriate supervision, including upper and lower GI endoscopies, and support the management of patients with acute and chronic gastrointestinal conditions. Daily responsibilities include conducting outpatient clinics, participating in inpatient rounds, reviewing investigations, and developing evidence-based management plans. The role also involves coordinating multidisciplinary care, documenting clinical findings accurately, and ensuring adherence to clinical guidelines, infection control, and safety standards. The Senior Resident will contribute to case discussions, participate in teaching and training activities, and support quality improvement and audit initiatives within the department.
Qualifications
- Completed medical degree and recognized residency training in Internal Medicine, with advanced training or enrollment in a Gastroenterology program.
- Proficiency in diagnostic and basic therapeutic endoscopic procedures, including upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy, with a strong focus on patient safety and quality of care.
- Solid clinical skills in assessing, diagnosing, and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions in inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Strong commitment to evidence-based practice, clinical documentation, and adherence to institutional policies, national regulations, and infection control standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary teams, patients, and families in a respectful, culturally sensitive manner.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload, prioritize tasks, and respond promptly to urgent and emergency gastrointestinal presentations.
- Willingness to participate in teaching, mentoring junior staff, attending educational activities, and contributing to research or quality improvement projects.
- Board eligibility or board certification in relevant specialties and a valid license or eligibility for medical licensure in the applicable jurisdiction (Saudi Commission or equivalent).
