Description
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Manage the admission and discharge process in accordance with hospital policies and RCM standards.
- Receive and process admission requests from physicians, providing accurate cost estimates and scheduling patient admissions.
- Verify patient identification, insurance eligibility, and financial coverage prior to admission.
- Ensure completion of all required consent forms, financial documents, and pre-admission paperwork before the scheduled date.
- Coordinate with the Billing Team to confirm deposit requirements, pre-approvals, and coverage limitations.
- Handle patient payments (deposits, discharge balances) accurately and issue receipts in compliance with Finance procedures.
- Maintain a secure and organized cash handling process; reconcile and deposit daily collections with the main cashier.
- Monitor and update VIP room reservations and follow up with patients regarding postponements or rescheduling.
- Communicate effectively with patients about admission policies, discharge procedures, and settlement requirements.
- Ensure final discharge is processed only after financial and clinical clearance is confirmed.
- Provide assistance to the Admission & Discharge Manager in improving workflows and resolving patient flow bottlenecks.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance patient experience and reduce discharge turnaround time.
- Uphold patient confidentiality, safety standards, and compliance with CHI, MOH, and NPHIES regulations.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of the job.
Requirements
Job Requirements Skills and Abilities: - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle patients and staff professionally.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with high attention to detail.
Ability to perform under pressure while maintaining accuracy and service quality.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS/NPHIES).
Strong knowledge of medical insurance, eligibility, and billing requirements.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Experience: Officer: 0 - 2 years of experience in healthcare administration and admissions.
Senior Officer: 2-3 years of experience in healthcare administration and admissions.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or similar field.
Language: Excellent command of oral and written English and Arabic.
