Job Description
As part of our continued growth in Saudi Arabia, we are seeking a talented Saudi National IT Support Specialist to join our team on a major roads and highways construction project in Riyadh.
The IT Support Specialist will be responsible for delivering reliable and efficient IT support services to project staff across office and site locations. The role will ensure the smooth operation of IT systems, hardware, software, networks, communications technologies, and collaboration platforms essential for project delivery.
The successful candidate will act as the primary point of contact for technical support, helping maintain business continuity while ensuring compliance with WSP's technology and cybersecurity standards.
Responsibilities
Technical Support & Service Delivery
- Provide first and second-line IT support for project staff and stakeholders.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, network, and system-related issues.
- Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot desktops, laptops, printers, scanners, mobile devices, and peripheral equipment.
- Support Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Manage user accounts, password resets, permissions, and access rights.
- Provide onboarding and offboarding support for project personnel.
- Maintain high levels of customer service while ensuring timely resolution of IT issues.
- Record, monitor, and close support tickets in accordance with service delivery standards.
Network & Infrastructure Support
- Support LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN, and internet connectivity services.
- Assist with monitoring and maintaining network infrastructure and communications systems.
- Coordinate with corporate IT teams and third-party vendors for issue escalation and resolution.
- Support server rooms, network equipment, and site communications infrastructure where required.
- Conduct routine system checks and preventative maintenance activities.
Project Technology Support
- Support project-specific applications, document management systems, and collaboration platforms.
- Ensure meeting rooms, video conferencing facilities, and presentation systems are fully operational.
- Provide support to both office-based and field-based personnel across project locations.
- Assist with data transfers, file management, and information access requirements.
Cybersecurity & Compliance
- Ensure all IT activities comply with WSP cybersecurity standards and policies.
- Support implementation of security patches, updates, antivirus solutions, and endpoint protection systems.
- Assist with monitoring and reporting security incidents.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness and best practices among project personnel.
- Support compliance audits and IT governance requirements.
Asset Management
- Maintain accurate IT asset registers and inventory records.
- Track hardware, software licenses, and technology equipment allocation.
- Coordinate procurement, replacement, repair, and disposal of IT assets.
- Ensure all project equipment is properly documented and maintained throughout its lifecycle.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with project teams, management, vendors, and corporate IT departments.
- Support project mobilization requirements, including office setup and technology deployment.
- Provide regular updates on IT performance, issues, and improvement opportunities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing IT service delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certifications, CompTIA A+, Network+, ITIL, Cisco CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in IT support, service desk, desktop support, or infrastructure support roles.
- Previous experience supporting engineering consultancies, infrastructure projects, construction projects, or large corporate environments is preferred.
- Experience working in multi-user environments and supporting both office and site-based personnel.
- Familiarity with project delivery environments and construction sites would be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, Exchange Online, and SharePoint.
- Understanding of networking principles including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, routers, switches, and wireless technologies.
- Experience supporting printers, scanners, mobile devices, audiovisual, and video conferencing systems.
- Familiarity with IT service management tools and ticketing systems.
- Understanding of information security practices and cybersecurity principles.
- Knowledge of data backup and recovery procedures.
