Hays are excited to be collaborating with a leading deep technology investment platform to hire a Venture Building Consultant for their growing venture development team in Saudi Arabia. The organisation invests globally across frontier and industrial technologies, supporting breakthrough innovations within deep tech sectors.

This is a highly unique opportunity for an experienced deep-tech venture builder to work directly with researchers, innovators and founders to transform cutting-edge technologies into scalable, venture-backed companies. The successful candidate will play a hands-on role in venture creation, supporting the commercialisation of breakthrough technologies and helping founders navigate the journey from innovation through to company formation, market validation and fundraising.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and deliver venture-building programmes focused on commercialising deep-tech innovations and research outputs
• Work directly with founders, researchers and innovators to assess market opportunities and develop scalable business models
• Act as a hands-on venture builder, supporting the creation and development of new technology ventures from inception through early growth stages
• Advise startups on technology commercialisation, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, IP considerations and venture formation
• Support founders in refining value propositions, customer validation efforts and investor engagement strategies
• Collaborate with investment professionals, ecosystem partners, universities and industry stakeholders to accelerate venture development
• Facilitate connections with corporate partners, pilot opportunities, investors and strategic collaborators
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of venture-building methodologies, frameworks and startup support initiatives

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience within venture building, startup studios, technology commercialisation, deep-tech incubation or related innovation environments
• Demonstrated experience supporting the creation, launch or scaling of deep-tech startups, ideally originating from universities, research institutions or corporate R&D environments
• Strong understanding of venture creation, startup development, fundraising, technology transfer and commercialisation processes
• Founder, co-founder, Entrepreneur in Residence (EIR) or early-stage operator experience within a deep-tech business would be highly advantageous
• Exposure to sectors such as energy, advanced manufacturing, industrial technologies, semiconductors, robotics, advanced materials, mining technologies, sustainability or related deep tech fields
• Experience working directly with technical founders, scientists, engineers and research teams to build commercially viable ventures
• Ability to operate in a highly hands-on environment, balancing strategic thinking with practical execution and venture support activities
• International experience gained within venture studios, startup builders, technology innovation platforms, research commercialisation organisations or deep-tech ecosystems would be advantageous
