Description
Tuwaiq Casting & Forging is seeking a technically competent and quality-driven QA Engineer to join the Quality Assurance Division. Reporting to the QA Manager, this role is responsible for supporting the implementation, maintenance, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) to ensure that casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, welding repair, and final products comply with customer purchase orders, engineering specifications, internal procedures, and applicable international standards.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Management System Control
- Implement and maintain the Quality Management System in accordance with ISO 9001, API Q1, API 20A, and API 20B requirements
- Prepare, review, and update procedures, work instructions, forms, and quality records
- Ensure effective document control and revision status across all departments
- Support internal audits and management review activities
- Promote continual improvement and risk-based thinking throughout the organization.
Production Process Quality Assurance
- Monitor casting, forging, machining, heat treatment, and inspection activities for compliance with approved procedures
- Conduct process audits and identify gaps or deviations during manufacturing
- Ensure traceability of raw materials, heat numbers, batches, and finished products
- Support reduction of defects, scrap, rework, and process variation
- Verify implementation of Inspection and Test Plans (ITP) at all stages.
Standards & Technical Compliance
- Ensure manufacturing activities comply with ASME, ASTM, API, ISO, and customer specifications
- Review purchase orders, drawings, datasheets, and technical requirements
- Maintain updated copies of applicable international codes and standards
- Coordinate technical clarifications with Engineering, QC, and Production teams
- Support qualification approvals, procedures, and product compliance documentation.
Supplier Quality & Non-Conformance Control
- Participate in supplier qualification audits and periodic supplier evaluations
- Monitor supplier performance related to quality, certification, and delivery compliance
- Raise NCRs for internal and supplier-related non-conformities
- Support root cause analysis and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Ensure proper segregation, identification, and disposition of non-conforming products.
Reporting, Calibration & Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate calibration of measuring and testing equipment as per schedule
- Maintain accurate quality records, reports, KPIs, and management summaries
- Support customer audits, third-party audits, and certification assessments
- Coordinate with QC, Production, NDE, Lab, Warehouse, and Procurement teams on quality matters
- Conduct quality awareness training and promote a quality-focused culture.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- 3-5 years of experience in QA within a foundry, forging, machining, valve, oil and gas, or heavy manufacturing environment
- Experience in QMS documentation, audits, and technical customer reviews is preferred.
Certifications & Knowledge
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 and API Q1 systems; familiarity with API 20A and API 20B is preferred
- Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor certification is preferred
- Knowledge of ASME, ASTM, MSS, and EN standards is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Root cause analysis and CAPA systems
- Data analysis and KPI reporting
- Knowledge of ERP, SAP, Oracle, or MES systems is preferred
- Strong report writing and documentation control.
